The as Memphis is one of the few teams

The Lakers are set to take on the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum today on Martin Luther King Jr. Day at 2:30 PM PST/5: 30 PM EST. The game will be broadcasted nationally on TNT. The Lakers snapped their horrendous 9 game losing streak and are looking to get their 5th win in a row today. The Lakers (15-27) may just get their way, as Memphis is one of the few teams in the Western Conference with a record worse than them (13-28).The Grizzlies are coming in having won 2 of their last 5. Chandler Parsons is reportedly out with a knee issue, and Mike Conley is still recovering from an Achilles injury that has kept him out a while. The Lakers faced the Grizzlies on December 27th, and Memphis added loss #4 to that 9 game losing streak. Lonzo didn’t play that game, but the Grizzlies powered past the Lakers thanks to 32 points from Tyreke Evans It was reported by ESPN on Sunday that Lonzo Ball was getting an MRI to take a look at some soreness in his left knee. Bleacher Report then reported that the MRI revealed that he has a minor left knee sprain, so he’s considered questionable for the game. I think he’s just a little sore after playing 43 minutes against Dallas. Brandon Ingram exited that game early with a left ankle sprain, but an X-Ray revealed there was no serious damage. Ingram has been monitoring his ankle and will decide if he’s good to go closer to the game. The team has been in a groove thanks to the solid play of their young guns Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Julies Randle. Last game against Dallas, Julius Randle scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, and got a crucial putback off of a Lonzo miss in OT. Jordan Clarkson also chipped in 11 of his 19 total points in the second half/OT. Lonzo continued filling the stat sheet in everything but his scoring. He contributed 9 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 steal in 43 minutes with zero turnovers. He even had a nice post up sequence against Dennis Smith Jr. in OT that I would like to see more of. If he takes care of the ball again and doesn’t try to shoot too many 3’s against Memphis the Lakers will be in good shape. There are still rumors going around that Luke Walton has lost the respect of the players, a rumor brought to our attention by the one and only Lavar Ball. Magic Johnson and Jeanie Buss have since publicly praised Luke’s work as a head coach with the Lakers. I personally find it hard to believe the team is rebelling, especially when they’re playing some of their best ball of the season right now. Each night it feels like someone new is stepping up and having a big game. Kyle Kuzma hasn’t had a monster game during this winning streak yet, so look for him to step it up for the Lakeshow.
