TOPICTHE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING A SONG TO TEACH VOCABULARY TO STUDENTS OF SMPN 1 SUBAH.BACKGROUND OF THE TOPICIn this era English is very important. It is used as a foreign language in Indonesia. English is the one of subjects which is used in school curriculum especially Junior High School. This subject is the one of the difficult subjects for students of Junior High School. The students sometimes find some problems in this subject, because they don’t mastering vocabulary. In teaching vocabulary teachers sometimes use monoton way. It makes students bored and they will not foccuss and ignore this subject. So, tecahers should have a cretaive method to teach vocabulary to students like using a song. REASONS FOR CHOOSING THE TOPICBy using a song in teaching vocabulary to students, it will be an alternative way to the teachers in teaching vocabulary and it will also help the studets in learning and memorizing vocabulary easily. RESEARCH PROBLEMFrom the background which have been explained above, by using a song to teach vocabulary to students of SMPN 1 Subah we can know the research problem. The research problem is:Is using a song to teach vocabulary to students of SMPN 1 Subah effective? PURPOSE OF THE STUDYThe objective of this study is to show whether using a song to teach vocabulary to students of SMAN 1 Subah is effective or not. REVIEW OF THE RELATED LITERATUREThe effectiveness of using a song in teacing vocabulary to students has proven before that this method is effective for the students. According to Burhayani (2013: 72) the effectiveness can be achieved because songs help students to enjoying the learning process and song make students easily to remember the new words. The research shows that students are interest to join the learning process and it make them easily to follow the material given by the teacher. This study will find a new inovation for students by teaching vocabulary using a song in a different way. RESEARCH METHODOLOGIESThis research use qualitative research type.Subjet of the StudyThis study is very important which is directed for the teacher and of course for the students of SMPN 1 Subah.Role of the ResearcherThe role of the researcher is to teach the purpose of this study.Type of DataThere are two types of data, qualitative and quantitative data. The researcher here use qualitative data and the it belongs to categorical data.Instrumen of Collecting DataThere will be an instrument used by the researcher to get the data from respondents. The researcher will conduct an observation to get the valid data. Procedures of Collecting DataTo collect the data the researcher should do the instrument first, which is conduct the observation, then the researcher do the observation in SMPN 1 Subah. Procedures of Analysing DataAfter the researcher collect the data, the researcher will do the observation and analyze the data by generalizing it.Technique of Collecting DataAfter the researcher get the result from the observation, the researcher will collect the data and will share the data in a document.BIBLIOGRAPHYAyuningtyas, P. 2008.
